About me

Joshua Angnoe, Freelance Webdeveloper and Welder, The hague area

In 2008 I developed an online scheduling solution for 'De Grote Markt' in The Hague centre. This became the core product of the company Dyflexis. I've worked on Dyflexis for 7 years. We started with 3 founders and grew to 30-some employees serving hundreds of clients. In 2017 I departed the company to continue my search for happiness and fulfillment on my own. My friends continued the business and made it flourish and I discovered an interest in working with steel. I acquired some machinery and tools and got the opportunity to work in an existing workshop. There we design and build beautiful custom-made furniture and interior solutions with wood and steel for clients that value craftsmanship. I discovered that the workshop provides a proper counter-balance to the mental heavy-lifting software development often is. I specialize in welding and metalwork.

Areas of expertise/interest

  • Webapplications - Frontend, backend, databases and -models and networks of collaborating applications. It almost sounds like jack of all, master of none, so I focus on data, function and flow, less on aestethics.
  • Developer tooling and poweruser solutions - potentially the most valuable solutions.
  • Flexible software, usually interpreted software.

Specialties

  • System thinking - software, users, stakeholders, developers, all part of one big, hopefully happy, whole.
  • Developer tooling and experience - happy developers are productive developers. Optimize the development experience and the fruits will definitely follow.
  • Solution scouting - exploring solutions, weighing alternatives, proof-of-concepting and groundworks.
